About the Role

The Receptionist role is responsible for providing a welcoming, knowledgeable and reassuring service to our patients, visitors, staff and consultants.

The position is approximately 32 hours per week, to be worked over a 7 day rotating roster during the opening hours of the hospital reception (6:15am – 8:30pm), which includes weekend work.

The role is a 9 month fixed term position. The reason for the fixed term nature of this role is to provide temporary cover during the time rosters and additional duties on reception are being reviewed.


Specific duties include:

  • All visitors and patients are acknowledged with a professional, warm welcome
  • Provide an efficient and effective service delivery including preadmissions and medical records
  • Communicate in such a way that meets Patient needs
  • Facilitate effective emergency management processes when required.

Skills and Experience:

  • Excellent administration and client service skills
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Work calmly under pressure and prioritise workload
  • Professional approach to work
  • Sound knowledge of Microsoft office and confident learning new computer applications.


The successful applicant must have previous Reception experience. Experience in a medical environment would be preferred.
