Mercy Hospital is a private, not for profit, elective surgical hospital with 6 operating theatres, a 41 bed inpatient ward and 25 day surgery beds. Manaaki, is a modern, stand-alone day-surgery facility with 2 operating theatres located on the hospital campus.

This role is responsible for providing efficient and effective evidence based Perioperative patient care, and provide clinical support through professional development of nursing staff within the Perioperative area. It is a full time position but will be split with 0.6 FTE being spent on non-clinical activities and 0.4 FTE in clinical areas.  


To be part of our team you will have: 

  •   Minimum 5 years surgical nursing experience
  •   Significant clinical experience in Perioperative Care
  •   Adult teaching experience
  •   Expert clinical assessment skills
  •   Level 6 NZRC certification
  •   Demonstrate critical thinking, problem solving and decision making skills
  •   Ability to communicate effectively with credentialed medical specialists in challenging situations
  •   Computer literacy; Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint
  •   Excellent interpersonal and relationship skills
