Very few people are aware that reduced hearing is the most widespread of all disabilities worldwide. Estimates are that more than 10% of all people and more than 30% of people over 65 have reduced hearing and those percentages are growing! The people concerned here are those with a permanent loss of hearing caused by damage to the inner ear.
Ageing is the most common cause of reduced hearing however hearing loss can also be caused by noise exposure from farming equipment, machinery, shooting, etc. This type of loss cannot be cured, yet in many cases hearing aids can greatly improve a person’s hearing ability if fitted professionally to the individual’s needs and lifestyle.
Will hearing aids really help?
Hearing aids have come a long way. With today's technology an amazing improvement in hearing can be achieved for many who suffer from a hearing loss. The success of hearing aids ultimately depends on your individual residual hearing potential, your motivation and on the experts who help you, not just on the hearing aid technology. We always fit hearing aids on a no-obligation trial basis first, so you will never make a buying decision before really knowing how they perform in your daily life. Probably you qualify for hearing aid funding. We will always give you a full explanation of your possible funding options before starting a trial.
